Host Europe continues to make progress, despite the continued gloom surrounding all things internet. In the six months to June interim revenues quadrupled to £4.2m and a small profit of £60,000 (before £9.8m of goodwill arising from three recent acquisitions) was reported for the first time. Perhaps, most significantly the company has managed to nearly double the number of 'dedicated servers' it operates for small- and medium-sized companies in just six months to 2,300. Chief executive Abby Hardoon describes this as evidence that the company is successfully upgrading its clients to higher cost services. Host Europe has also recently been awarded the rights to supply Microsoft's new server appliance kit in the UK.
