PNC Tele.com has announced it plans to be a fully switched national network operator, with full interconnection, by March 2001. In the build-up to this it acquired KJC Mobile Phones for £30m in July, along with the 300,000 mobile customer base. This month, 1.3m personal numbers from the 'Flexinumber' range were acquired from British Telecom, for £350,000. This means PNC has a formidable customer base, to which it can cross-sell its current internet and telephony range. Turnover has rocketed up from £12.1m in 1999 to £29.1m for the period ending March 2000. Pre-tax losses are recorded at £0.36m but chief executive Geremy Thomas believes these recent acquisitions 'will lead to an increase in both call traffic and revenues in the forthcoming months'.
