The stone extractor is hardly the most liquid stock - chairman Giles Nixon and its chief executive Robert Binns hold 94% of the shares between them. This issue aside though, it continues to make progress in developing its wharf locations into satellite coating plants. The £2m expansion programme to develop its coastal quarry in Cornwall has also been completed, with the first cargoes to be shipped in June. These activities seem to have taken their toll on the bottom line. Final results for 1999 showed a 46% leap in turnover to £4.7m, but pre-tax profits lagged behind, nudging ahead only 0.5% to £365,300. The directors awarded themselves a final dividend of 1p, bringing the total for the year to 2p, payable from EPS of 5.7p (6.01p).
