RDL is looking to raise £2m by floating on AIM. Established in 1992, it now claims to be the 18th largest in its field of placing IT software consultants. Its main asset is a database which holds details on over 60,000 contractors and 11,000 potential clients. This is a very fragmented market with over 1,600 operators in the UK alone. In the year to 30 September 1998, the group made a pre-tax profit of £1.2m on sales of £15.7m. The directors assert that the funds raised would be used to expand in Europe. Nominated adviser and broker to the deal is Beeson Gregory. Founders Andy Richards and Suzi Strange had originally planned to take £1m between them from the proceeds as a dividend, but this plan was subsequently shelved. They are already on very comfortable salaries: £125,000 with a potential 100% bonus.
