Bitter disappointment at coming within touching distance of the Premiership will be matched by disquiet at another dire set of financial results. The Blues made a pre-tax loss of £744,000 on turnover of £4.12m compared with a profit of £159,000 on revenue of £4.72m last year. The most salient figure is that of 'Staff Costs' - a whopping £2.6m. This won't have been helped by the management spending a net £1.2m on new players over the year.
