Trading updates are coming thick and fast at electric vehicle maker Tanfield. The latest announces a deal with a US maker of electric, hybrid and fuel cell power management systems, Enova, to incorporate its drive trains in Tanfield’s 3.5 ton and 7.5 ton vans and trucks. It will also work with Tanfield to help develop a 12-ton zero emission truck for the US market.
Clearly, the volume potential of the US market – at a time when the US government is finally putting its weight behind green energy – is enormous. The market responded to the announcement by pushing the shares up to 74.25p. They were tipped here in March 2005 at 19.75p but should not be sold.
