Staffing specialist Empresaria Group has taken 60 per cent of medical staffing groups in Finland and Estonia.

The AIM-quoted company, whose growth hitherto has owed much to acquisitions, has taken the stakes in MediradiX Oy of Finland and MediradiX Ou of Estonia. Both companies provide temporary doctors, dentists and nurses for hospitals and health centres.

The deal brings to 22 the number of countries served by Crawley-based Empresaria, which more than doubled pre-tax profits last year to £6.2 million on turnover up 97 per cent to £148 million, helped by the acquisition of Germany’s Headway group. Shares in Empresaria have been out of favour lately, falling from to 187p last year to 65p, only 0.5p above their 2005 low.
