Surveillance equipment developer Datong, whose annual results today show revenues up 12.5 per cent to £10.7 million, is one of around a hundred companies exhibiting or presenting at tomorrow’s fourth annual Growth Company Investor Show at London’s Barbican Exhibition Halls.
Leeds-based Datong, which increased pre-tax profits by 8.4 per cent to £2 million in the year to March, absorbed a fall in US revenues by expanding with new customers in Europe. Chief executive Brian Smith said the company was seeing ‘encouraging growth in military and homeland security budgets around the globe’ and is confident of another year of organic growth. At tomorrow’s Growth Company Investor Show, investors will be able to quiz him on the company’s strategy as well as on the results of recent investment in research and development.
Investors will also get the chance to sound out management teams from a wide variety of companies, ranging from established AIM businesses such as social housing services star Mears to up-and-coming small-caps like problem-solving software developer Imaginatik.
Exhibitors from the resources sector include Cluff Gold, Greatland Gold and Rockhopper Exploration, and those with a medical interest can meet Immunodiagnostic Systems, Phynova, Advanced Medical Solutions and Alliance Pharma.
The conference programme, as well as presentations from individual companies, includes a talk from Growth Company Investor’s editor in chief Leslie Copeland, who will be picking five stocks to weather the current economic downturn, and another address from the straight-talking smaller companies specialist boss of Unicorn Asset Management, Peter Webb.
And don’t forget, it is FREE of charge to attend either the conference or the company presentations. To register as a visitor, please click here.
