A pride of persuaders

01/07/2008

A new City public relations combine boasting experience rather than youth has arrived on the scene with the launch of Lothbury Financial by investment analyst, financier and financial public relations man Michael Padley. Hitherto a luminary of the Bankside PR group, Padley has merged his team with key players from the fully listed City of London
PR concern, led by City of London’s founder, natural resources specialist John Greenhalgh.

Padley is executive chairman, and fellow veteran Greenhalgh, known particularly for opening out the smaller Australian resources companies to the British press in the 1980s and 1990s, is senior consultant to Lothbury. His fellow senior consultants are Michael Spriggs, former star-rated Warburgs (now UBS) analyst and seasoned PR man, who is also a director of several mining companies, and Ron Marshman, a City of London stalwart and ex-editor of the Mining Journal, who previously spent several years
at the sharp end of mining itself.

Lothbury’s 14-strong team also claims expertise beyond resources, in financial services, technology and healthcare. But, with oil and commodities the way they are now, they can expect a bracing time.
