Graham Rivers, current chairman of payment processing company Telrock, is set to take over as chief executive at WIN, the AIM-listed SMS text message concern.
He will step in on 14 August for Peter Button, who wishes to spend six months pursuing ‘non-business interests’. Button took the reins at WIN in 2001, when the company produced revenues of only £4 million and ran at a loss. By the end of 2005, turnover had increased ten fold, the company had started trading on AIM and profits had been achieved.
Chairman Richard Joyce commented that although he was sorry to see Button go, he believes that ‘in Graham Rivers, we have found an excellent replacement’. ‘Graham's experience, credibility, understanding of the market dynamics and contacts within the UK mobile industry will be very valuable to WIN.’
