While Tenon and Numerica both came as start-ups, raising large sums of money to buy significant accountancy practices, Vantis joined AIM in 2002 as a fully fledged accountancy firm that had grown steadily by acquisition over 16 years. It raised just £3 million (at 90p) to re-brand its business and continue the same policy of step-by-step acquisitions.
Since then the group has made seven further small acquisitions. They have been funded in part by some £6.1 million of share placings at prices ranging up to 115p.
