Keep an eye peeled for interims from e-learning software provider iTrain, bossed by ex-Royal Navy man Derek Moore. In July, iTrain's German arm signed a deal with a leading medical software venture to market online training courses for the German healthcare system. iTrain is providing courses for an ever-evolving and firmly entrenched package called ID DIACOS, used by physicians in nearly 1,000 hospitals throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. ID DIACOS helps them operate patient data record systems and recoup the cost of treatment from the German government. This followed a co-operation deal with training firm Signet GmbH, under which the two are developing training courses for the latest version of MindManager, a popular 'visual thinking' software. Intel is selling the courses as part of a bundle of products targeted at the education market, whilst Microsoft is promoting the courses to the German-speaking market. Corporate Synergy's Luke Ahern argues these two deals 'have scope to contribute annualised revenues of £1m with potential margins of over 80%' for iTrain, whose customers include the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust, Audi and Virgin Atlantic. Last year to December, iTrain made a small profit with a notable sales uptick in the second half. This year, Ahern forecasts profits of £600,000 giving earnings of 0.75p. 2005 could see many deals really kick in and, if they do, the figures could easily surpass the £1.1m profit and earnings of 1.2p currently expected by the City.
