Henderson Morley has raised another £600,000 to develop its scientific programmes to treat varieties of herpes and cancer.
The Birmingham-based AIM counter, which claims its Ionic Contra Viral Therapy (ICVT) technology has applications for herpes, warts and verrucae, is also working on developing a vaccine technology, PREPS, as a cancer immunotherapeutic. AIM-listed Henderson, which lost £469,000 in the six months to October, has recruited three new scientists to work on PREPS and also to develop Henderson Morley vaccines to prevent Koi Herpes, which is contagious to carp and other fish.
Shares in Henderson Morley, which floated six years ago at 4p, were disastrous performers for most of the company’s AIM life, falling to 0.43p in summer 2005. After bouncing more than tenfold to 5.78p in March last year, they have eased again to 2.3p and remain highly speculative.
