14/12/1999
Electronic education and data capture firm Feedback has returned to the black. Pre-tax profit in the six months to 30 September 1999 stood at £208,000 on turnover of £4.33m, compared to a loss of £334,000 on turnover of £3.65m last year. The shares have been rising steadily over the period, largely as a result of intense interest in its internet joint venture, TekniCAL. TekniCAL offers a web-based 'student management and teaching delivery system' which is backed by Feedback's hardware, and is aimed at the corporate training market through the setting up of 'Virtual Campuses'. The other side of the business, Feedback Data, focuses on data capture terminals and systems, for example for timekeeping applications. Earnings per share were 1.64p and no dividend was proposed.
